2011 Hagafen Roussanne

“Rousanne?” The first question we hear is “How do you pronounce it?”. The second question is “What is it?!?”. To answer the first, phonetically you would say “roo- sawn”. To answer the second we simple say, “It’s wonderful.”
Roussanne is a white Rhone varietal, most often used in blending, and very rarely found alone. We find this a tragedy! It is a beautiful stand-alone wine, as complex as a Chardonnay but not as heavy, and our most versatile pairing wine.
The nose of this fabulous wines opens with a filed of freshly growing hay and rounds out with a beautiful vanilla cream. On the big round mouth we find fresh honeydew and subtle hints of light tropical fruits This wine leaves you with a soft lingering light crème fraîche on the palate and a smile on your face!
