Why call it a mixture, a combination or a blend when it can be a melange? The French have a way of making simple words sound like romantic entreaties of love. And that is what we feel we are doing with our Prix Melange: entreating your senses to experience this beautiful wine!
Its nose is luscious and brooding and contemplative with aromas of violet, licorice, blackberry brambles, a hint of mint and beautifully balanced oak. On the palate this deep red is rich and intense with round soft tannins. The juicy succulent fruit is balanced with deep earth and soft oak and leaves you with a full and lingering flavor. Having aged to prefection this wine is mature and lovely.

This Mélange is the older brother of our 2009 Prix Reserve Mélange with more mature, soft dark red fruits and subtle tannins. It presents aromas of a black fruits with hints of mint, spices, and violet. On the palate is a hedonistic mix of oak, vanilla, and red and black fruits. This is the wine you think of when you hear the words “proprietary red blend.” It has matured perfectly for a limited Release library red varietal blend of what the vineyards has best to offer.
