2014 Don Ernesto's Clarinet
"Good wine shouldn't be complicated. Like a rainbow or a puppy or a beautiful sunset, wine should make you feel happy to be alive and enjoying life surrounded by friends. Don Ernesto is just that kind of fun . . . in a bottle”
- Don Ernesto
(And for those of you who don’t know, Don Ernesto has been known to moonlight as Ernie Weir, winegrower and owner of Hagafen Cellars.)
This California Tempranillo displays beautiful light, fruity and fun red fruit and plum notes with a delicate body reminiscant of a Pinot Noir. However, it gives a light kick with a touch of spice on the finish to ensure it stands in its own category. The meaty and smoky quality nose draws you in while the fruit and spice keep you sipping.
